My dad was called as the 2nd counselor in the University ward.  Josh and I weren't able to go to the ward to hear dad receive the calling and to get set apart because we had already made plans to go to Carlsbad where our nephew Lucas Bluth, son of Cami and Marcus, was blessed.  (Cami is Josh's sister.)  I was feeling pretty sad that we missed it but dad said that they are speaking in church next week so we are planning to go to that!  But we did have fun in Carlsbad but the ride there are back was really tough with Hailey. She didn't really enjoy riding in the car at all.  There were definitely sometimes that were better then others but dang it was pretty tough.  We also had to stop on the side of the road twice because she was poopy and I think that it was making her sad!  Man, I know I probably write this every week but Hailey is definitely getting closer to walking but I'm kinda thinking hopefully by her birthday.  This last week she stood up on her own and on several occasions she took a couple steps.  And she can stand without help for quite a while.    And the most exciting thing is that we got her to sleep in her own crib and also sleep through the night.  I had been reading and reading this book trying to prepare to help her to be in her own bed and sleep through the night and let me tell you I was dreading it.  I kept putting it off and finally one night Josh was like enough is enough and he moved her to her own bed and he  soothed her until she fell asleep. He was just rocking her.  And it took about 45 minutes, but the book I was reading said to prepare for a lot longer.  And the book also said it good to let them sooth themselves by letting them cry and it hasn't ever taken her very long to fall asleep for naps and stuff and she also has slept through the night every night since we started doing it so it has been so awesome!!! I'm so excited that it has been working so well!!  You can't even imagine how much a had been dreading it but it worked out so well!!

This week Hailey learned how to say ouch!  It's so cute, she is so smart!  We also tried to enter her into Kelly and regis beautiful baby contest, I was all excited but we were having problems with the size of the photo and getting it cropped and then the website was too busy and we weren't able to put her into the contest.  Oh darn it!  I sure think my kid is cute, I think she would have had a pretty good chance.  Oh well, I was joking that she would be even cuter next year so we will try again then!

Lets see this last week Josh went back to school.  probably his last semester.  He's planning to study really hard are take the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Exam, probably in the next year.  I hear that it is really hard and it costs around a $1000 dollars so you really want to get it right the first time!  This last week   I went to El Paso to visit Katie and Nathan.  It was fun we played, or I should say they played, all mourning, it was so cute.  I feel kinda bed though because we were late getting back and Josh had to wait for us to pick him up for his lunch break about and hour and half late.  I felt pretty bad.  (We are just sharing one car right now to save money.)  We've been doing that since October.  It can be a little tough at times but it's mostly pretty doable.  Hailey is so sweet!  I love her so much!  Sometimes I feel like, How could I ever love another child as much?  I'm sure I could but it's kinda weird to think about!  Last night mom and dad and Dave came over for dinner, it was fun. Scotty is working at the movie theaters now, kinda fun!  And oh yeah, Katie Hakes is pregnant!  That's pretty exciting!  I don't think that I ready for that yet though!

Well for us it has been great having Hailey go to sleep between 7 and 8 every night but it has taken a toll on me having to get up every morning at six, I'm sure your probably laughing at this point because you get up at six every day.  (But i've been staying up late the last few nights doing little things like making cup cakes for the YW that I use to teach.  They were so cute I even put sprinkles that were heart shaped on them.  I deninitely need to go to bed early! We are all doing really well!!  I love you Karl!  I hope you are doing well!
